COVID-19 UPDATES

A Health and Safety Update

As we continue to fight against the spread of this novel COVID-19 virus, Core Performance Physical Therapy clinics will remain open to care for our patients.

We have made major changes to the layout of our existing clinics to abide by CDC guidelines and practice social distancing.  All treatment tables and exercise equipment are now positioned 6 feet apart from each other, and therapists’ schedules have been altered to avoid overcrowding in the clinic.  We also operate in a private satellite space next door to our Newport Beach facility to accommodate for those that need more privacy and separation from others.

Pre-screening is done over the phone and prior to entering the clinics’ premises.  We are carefully taking patients’ temperatures, inquiring about any COVID-19 symptoms they may be experiencing, and having them wash their hands and sanitize prior to initiating their treatment.

Face mask are required when attending our facilities.  We highly encourage everyone to bring their own face masks to help conserve the supply for front-line medical staff.

Remember that wearing a face mask does not eliminate the need to physically distance yourself from others.  We strongly recommend you continue to:

  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer after touching a surface or piece of equipment in the clinic
  • Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) apart from other people
  • Cancel your physical therapy visit if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, and stay home for the duration of your recovery

We ask that if you are experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID-19, or if you have been in contact with someone else who has these symptoms please stay at home to help us protect the safety of our immunocompromised patients, our physical therapists and staff members.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, COVID-19 symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure and include:

  • Fever
  • Sore throat
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Muscle aches

If you develop any of the symptoms mentioned above, we urge you to consult with your primary care physician prior to resuming your physical therapy treatments.  Learn more about COVID-19 on the CDC website.

Please call us with any questions you may have.  We thank you in advance for cooperating in slowing the spread of the coronavirus.

Best of health,

Our staff at Core Performance Physical Therapy
