Taryn grew up in Huntington Beach, California, where she discovered the love of dance at an early age. After High School she went on to pursue a career in ballet, dancing professionally for 10 years. Her career took her to Salt Lake City, Utah, Portland, Oregon, and Canada. She has performed on many international stages including venues across Canada, Europe, and South Korea.
While being a full-time Artist with Alberta Ballet in Calgary, Alberta, Taryn received her Personal Training Certification through The National Academy of Sports Medicine and has received a certification in Progressing Ballet Technique. In addition, she has been teaching indoor cycling since 2017.
Taryn is comprehensively trained in Pilates through Body Arts and Science International and has been practicing Pilates herself for over a decade. She found Pilates through dance to aid with injury prevention, and feel in love with the strength Pilates makes her feel. She attributes never having suffered an injury that disrupted her dance career to the strength she gained through her Pilates training. Taryn has a passion for teaching and aims to create a positive environment where her clients can reach their goals. She works with each client individually to create a custom program tailored to them with a focus on creating a balanced body through mobility, alignment, and core strength. She also believes in helping her clients to establish a mind-body connection to maximize the many benefits Pilates has to offer.
Taryn also really enjoys teaching ballet and has had the opportunity to teach for many years. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family and friends, walking along the beach, and trying new fitness classes!
