Emily grew up in New Mexico where she played competitive soccer for fourteen years. She had many opportunities to travel with her team around the country to compete at a high level. Growing up she loved learning new ways to challenge the body and improve to become a better athlete; this is what sparked her interest in physical therapy. Emily moved to California in 2013 to attend Concordia University in Irvine. She joined the lacrosse team in her freshman year and is now the captain, currently finishing up her last year of eligibility within the NCAA. During college Emily had the opportunity to travel abroad to Ireland. Here, she got to learn, live, and appreciate a different culture as well as explore multiple European countries. Taking classes in a foreign country showed her the different perspectives of the healthcare industry throughout the world. In the spring of 2017 Emily will graduate from Concordia University with a Bachelors of Arts in Exercise Sports Science. After graduation she will finish her prerequisite courses while applying to Physical Therapy school.
In her free time Emily is always looking for new adventures. She enjoys staying active with sports, listening to music, traveling, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.
