Darius O Neal
Physical Therapy Aide
Darius was born in Virginia but grew up in good ole Memphis, TN. At the very young age of 6 he had a passion to run. In high school he competed in cross-country as well as track and field, where he specialized in middle and long distances. He also went on to win a State title his junior year of high school while setting multiple records across the city of Memphis. After high school he went on to compete at Milligan College for two years before deciding to focus on academics.
Darius’ interest in physical therapy came about from a re-occurring ITBand injury that consistently bothered him during his running career. After going back and forth to see his school’s trainer, he was recommended to start physical therapy to help strengthen his leg and hip muscles and introduce a new way of stretching. It is here where the interest in physical therapy sparked for Darius. Darius later went on to change majors from Computer Information Systems to Exercise Science with a focus on Physical Education. During the course of his education, Darius realized that teaching children to be future healthy individuals is fun and rewarding but the best feeling to him was helping others feel like themselves again. After completion of his undergraduate, he shadowed at a physical therapy clinic in Memphis, TN where he fell in love with the feeling of helping people better themselves as well as seeing the full overall transformation of the patient from beginning to end.
In his free time, Darius is out enjoying life by being a big kid. He is either outside playing with his dog, looking at clouds and stars, or watching cartoons and eating cereal. Overall, he loves the experience and the journey that life gives him.
