When I started physical therapy for a torn left lateral meniscus, I was anxious and depressed. I did not want to get surgery but felt unsure about my choice to seek PT, a more conservative treatment. I was in constant pain, walked with a limp, and was afraid that I would have to give up my passion for ballroom dancing. Then I met Dr. Matt. Right from the start, I knew that I had found a capable, skilled and confident professional. During my initial interview and physical evaluation, he reassured me that it was possible to regain normal motion in my knee and improve my overall strength and mobility. Dr. Matt has always maintained excellent communication with me, been attentive to my needs (and I was high maintenance), and was on time for each of our sessions. There was never a time when I felt rushed; he patiently answered all of my questions, even when they were repetitive. I trusted Dr. Matt even when he challenged me. He was able to blend kindness with assertiveness; encouragement with reassurance; and all while adjusting my program to meet my individual needs. I actually looked forward to three sessions a week for three months, despite the fact I had to work very hard. I now have a full range of motion, am relatively pain-free and dance four or more hours a week. As I healed, Core Physical Therapy became my safe place. The PT assistants, front office staff and a cheerful, clean atmosphere all contributed to my positive experience. I give Dr. Matt and Core PT my highest and unconditional rating.
