Lena grew up in Orange County, California. She started ballet at the age of three, and from the ages of fourteen to seventeen she attended the Harid Conservatory, a boarding school for classical ballet in Boca Raton, FL. After graduation, Lena danced professionally in Nashville, TN for two more years. After a series of injuries, Lena decided to move back to California to pursue a degree in Kinesiology. That is when she discovered the physical, mental, and spiritual healing benefits of yoga. Lena received her 200-hour registered yoga teacher certification in October of 2013, and has been teaching heated vinyasa classes ever since. She also participates in leading teaching programs and facilitating Boot Camp programs through CorePower Yoga.
She believes that her training in yoga greatly aids in her path to becoming a physical therapist, because it strengthens not only her knowledge in physical alignment but allows for her to be more intuitive with her clients and their needs. Lena is also a volunteer at Saddleback Memorial Hospital in their inpatient rehabilitation unit, and has completed her Physical Therapist Aide Technician certification through CSULB.
Lena is currently completing her undergraduate degree at Cal State Long Beach and looks forward to applying to graduate school. In her free time, Lena enjoys backpacing in national parks and taking care of her dogs.
