Aly grew up in Sacramento, California where she danced for 15 years with the Pamela Hayes Classical Ballet Company. She had the opportunity to perform in many classical ballets including The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Cinderella, Swan Lake, and Paquita, but most importantly, her extensive ballet training taught her the value of hard work and dedication. Aly currently attends the University of California Irvine as a Dance Performance and Biological Sciences double major. Ultimately, her love for dance and her knowledge and experience of dance movement led her to purse a career in physical therapy. Dance requires the repeated practice of specific movements to gain strength and control; these same movement principles are used in the physical therapy setting. She is particularly interested in minimizing dance injury through use of proper technique and form. Aly is also a certified Pilates Instructor and teaches Pilates individual and group classes at Core Performance. She received her Pilates teacher training in the classical method from Diane Diefenderfer, founder of Studio Du Corps in Costa Mesa and a renowned second generation teacher with over 30 years experience. Aly strives to provide a strong full body and mind workout adapted to each client’s individual needs and centered around abdominal strength while incorporating stamina, stretch and stability. After graduation next year, Aly plans to apply to Doctorate of Physical Therapy Programs and will be excited to begin her next chapter! Besides dance and practicing Pilates, Aly enjoys running, cooking, and reading.
